La Clinica workers vote by 98% to strike!
Workers at La Clinica de la Raza, who offer culturally appropriate healthcare services to diverse and underserved populations across the East Bay, have been bargaining with management for months to get a fair new contract.
By 98%, We Have Voted to STRIKE!
After voting on Tuesday the 12th and Wednesday the 13th, by 98%, La Clinica members have voted to authorize the Bargaining Team to call a strike, if necessary. We meet with management next in mediation on Thursday the 21st.

SEIU 1021 members across La Clinica deserve a strong contract with fair raises and improved working conditions. Many of us have fallen behind the rising cost of living and are struggling, but management isn’t listening, and we may have to go on strike to ensure that our co-workers are able to keep giving our patients the care they deserve.

La Clinica workers march for their community
Across the East Bay, La Clinica workers offer culturally appropriate healthcare services to diverse and underserved populations. The vital work they do helps thousands of people every week in Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano Counties. Unfortunately, La Clinica is badly understaffed, and workers there are falling far behind the cost of living in this region.

La Clínica workers hit the sidewalk in a show of solidarity with their bargaining team
On the heels of a successful strike authorization vote, SEIU 1021 members at La Clínica de la Raza turned up the heat in their fight for a contract by holding a powerful unity break outside their offices on Wednesday, November 27.
“For tens of thousands of families across Northern California, we are one of the only options people have for the health care they desperately need,” said Angel Valdez, Layout Graphic Designer and La Clínica SEIU 1021 Chapter President.
