NOTICE OF SEIU 1021 ALAMEDA COUNTY GENERAL CHAPTER ELECTIONS 2025
Per SEIU Local 1021 Alameda County General Chapter By-laws, notice is hereby given of Chapter Officer Elections for the Alameda County General Chapter for the purpose of electing new Chapter Executive Board Members to be completed by May 31, 2025. The Chapter Election Committee members for the election are: Clyde Houle, Bridget Mooney, Margarita Dowden, and Linh Dang.
*The nominations period for Chapter Officer seats listed below will be extended to March 28, 2025.*
Nominations may be sent to the attention of the Alameda County Chapter Election Committee at chouleseiu1021 [at] gmail.com no later than March 28, 2025, close of business.
*All nominations after March 13, 2025 will be verified by the Election Committee.*
Only members in good standing are eligible to vote. Proxy voting is prohibited. Write in voters are not permitted. In order to run for and serve as a Chapter Board Officers, candidates shall have been members in good standing for at least one (1) year. No member shall be a candidate for more than one (1) chapter board office or seat at a time. Officers shall serve a term of two (2) years.
This will be a hybrid, in-person and digital, election. All ballots are secret. Electronic voting opens Monday May 19, 2025, through Sunday May 25, 2025. In person voting will take place May 27-30, 2025, at various sites throughout Alameda County to be announced. Ballots will all be counted on May 30, 2025, 4 p.m. at SEIU Local 1021’s office, located at 100 Oak Street, Oakland, CA. After the election, new officers will be announced by the election committee on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
Challenges or disputes arising from the chapter election must be submitted in writing to the Chapter Election Committee within three (3) working days of the election results being announced. For a list of further duties, review the Alameda County General Chapter Bylaws at www.seiu1021.org
Officer seats are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, COPE Coordinator, and Chief Shop Steward.
