SEIU 1021 members in Solano and Napa Counties get out the vote
In the 2024 primary election, SEIU 1021 is strongly supporting pro-labor candidates for the Napa and Solano County Board of Supervisors.
The endorsed candidates include Amber Manfree, Liz Alessio, and Belia Ramos for Napa County and Cassandra James for Solano County, all committed to being powerful voices for workers and their communities.
While state and federal races get far more attention, local elections are critically important for our day-to-day lives–especially for those of us working for local government, public school districts, and publicly-funded nonprofit organizations. Local elections can make the difference in winning solid contracts that improve our wages, benefits, working conditions, and staffing levels–or whether our jobs even exist.
“It’s time for us to stand and be accounted for in this 2024 primary election by supporting our pro-labor candidates,” said SEIU 1021 Region A Vice President Akbar Bibb. ”Let’s make our voices heard by participating in in-person precinct walks or joining virtual phone banks. Together, we can champion the rights and values of workers and build stronger communities.”
Members in Napa or Solano Counties can engage with voters through virtual phone banks on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m. or in-person precinct walks on Saturdays, with shifts from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sign up here.
