Rain couldn’t keep Region E members from coming together for their end-of-the-year unity event on Thursday, December December 21st – members gathered at the SEIU 1021 Stockton office to give out more than 350 turkeys to their fellow members.

Although the sky was dark and rainy, spirits were high.

One of the volunteers handing out turkeys was Louis Azevedo, a shop steward at San Joaquin County. He remarked, laughing, that it was his 64th birthday. He explained, “I’ve been an SEIU 1021 member for more than a decade. I’m proud of the union we’ve built together. We’ve accomplished so much. And I wanted to do my part to give back.”

In addition to the line of cars picking up turkeys, many members gathered at a tent to socialize, drink hot chocolate, and celebrate the accomplishments of the year.
