“This is the people’s city!”
Oakland MUST elect Barbara Lee TODAY!
Oakland’s special election is today, April 15. The future of city services, the city workers who provide those services, and the residents who depend on those services depend on us electing Barbara Lee as the Town’s next mayor.
If you’re an Oakland resident and you haven’t voted yet, make sure you vote for Barbara Lee today! Find a local polling place or ballot dropbox here.
SEIU 1021 members have been relentless in getting out the vote for this inspiring candidate. Last Saturday, many came out to spread the message to our neighbors. One member leader who was there was longtime Oakland resident and Alameda County employee Cynthia Landry. She said, “Barbara Lee is exactly what Oakland needs right now. She’s a good listener and collaborator who brings people together. She’ll look out for all interests in Oakland, including working people. I don’t want to see Oakland cut jobs and reduce services that residents like me depend on every day. Barbara Lee has the skills and background to create vital alliances that will benefit Oaklanders. She will be effective at the local level, at the county level, at the state level, and beyond. With her leadership, we can come together and enjoy a vibrant Oakland that works for all of us.”
Show Barbara Lee that union members and working families stand with her as she has stood with us for so many years! As Lee said on Saturday, “This is the people’s city!”
It’s time for all of us to make sure that out-of-town billionaires with extreme political views know that Oakland is a union town. That starts with electing Barbara Lee, voting YES on Measure A, and electing Kara Murray-Badal to City Council for District 2.
