THE CLOCK IS TICKING
Wear Your Purple EVERY WEDNESDAY For a Fair Contract

Article

Your elected Bargaining Team met with management late into the night on June 17. Some progress is being made, but management continues to ignore information requests about safety and staffing and refuses to respond to our proposals about staffing matrixes.

We have three sessions left (Thursday the 20th, Monday the 24th and Wednesday the 26th), and we intend to have a tentative agreement after them or go on strike to protest the unfair labor practices we have endured at the bargaining table and in the workplace.

New Tentative Agreements:

  • Guaranteed uniforms for gardeners and EVS workers
  • Juneteenth holiday added to our MOU
  • Expanded bereavement leave
  • Increased training pay for all three contracts and new preceptor pay for General Unit and San Leandro Hospital contracts

Next Steps:

  • We meet with management three more times:
    • Thursday, June 20
    • Monday, June 24
    • Wednesday, June 26
  • If we don’t reach an agreement, we will give ten days’ notice to strike
  • Wear your purple every Wednesday!
