Oakland Parking
Since July 2009 there has been inequity in parking enforcement. Parking Officers were mandated to issue courtesy notices in the "hills" of Oakland and continue to cite and focus more on the "flatlands" for the evening shift.
Because there are at-will Part Time workers involved, member leaders took this issue public, and did it go public! An expose was released the day of our protest and it just created a momentum for a successful event and media blitz.

Oakland officials are saying that they will no longer do this.
City Attorney John Russo stated yesterday that this might lead to a class action lawsuit.
